This page will serve as a place where I can post previous lessons, resources to use, and activities from my internship and from my teaching at Western Michigan University. I will continue to add things as they come along, and hopefully continue to grow this page into a more important piece for others to be able to use.
English and the Economy - This lesson navigated a semester in an English class where students would learn more about the economy while also learning the craft of English.
Lego's & Writing - A small, fun lesson that teaches students how the writing process is much simpler than they think. We illustrate this by using Lego's to "build a paper".
Traffic Jam - a short lesson about grammar and punctuation. Using the colors of a traffic light, we can illustrate four common forms of punctuation.
Survival Guide Project - an assignment I designed that was coupled with the book The Tracker. Students took everything they had learned over the course of the book, including videos, websites, guest speakers, etc., and designed a guide based on a form of disaster.
